| Sean Lucas Willett is a self-taught Beacon, NY painter. He is primarily interested in building objective forms through fortuitous, subconscious creation. He takes aesthetically from 20th century masters such as Kandinsky, Kimt, de Kooning, Mondrian and Pollock, with a fusion of contemporary pschedelica and surrealism. His work is highly process-driven and is tied into the relationship of different two-dimensional media; impasto technique, iridescents and sometimes found-objects are incorporated. It is a marriage of illusion and the psychology of material and color with oblique reference to natural material and form. |
